Aviation Industry at Risk: Declining Commercial Pilots

The aviation industry currently faces an escalating crisis, owing to the shortage of qualified pilots for operating the aircrafts. According to a new report published by the Boeing Pilot Outlook, in 2016, there is significant need of enlisting about 112,000 pilots from this year to 2035 in the North American aviation industry alone. Furthermore, the demand for pilots in Asia-Pacific has been increasing significantly, owing to the growth of the aviation industry in the region. Additionally, the pilot shortage crisis has already started affecting major US carriers. As a result, Republic Airlines filed for bankruptcy in Feb 2016.
